The Quiet is a collection of profound moments experienced in solitude during the time of Covid-19. This period was transformative not only for the world at large but also for me and my family. The radical slowing down of life enabled us to - at least temporarily - embody a different way of living, one beyond the frenzy and expectations of hustle culture and the established norms we often take for granted within our social institutions. This time of introspection, combined with the highly fragmented and dystopian political response to the pandemic, felt deeply significant and profoundly shifted my outlook on society, nature, and my relationship to community. In this series of photographs, I explore the depth found in moments of stillness and awareness and the collective dissonance of being alone, together.
